Job Title: Procurement Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at KBR. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement process for our Government Solutions U.S. Science and Space Divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 6-10 buyers in all aspects of procurements, including cost, schedule, and performance parameters.
  • Review procurement support documentation in accordance with KBR's Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) approved procurement system.
  • Ensure compliance and quality while working to demonstrate customer value through cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop strategies to ensure compliance and quality while working vigorously to demonstrate customer value.
  • Build capabilities of team members through mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ensure standardization and consistency of processes and documents.
  • Assume an active role in administration and management of procurement actions.
  • Engage and support change management, including improvements in procurement compliance and subcontracting processes.
  • Manage activities to support special circumstances, such as new business proposals and phase-in activities for new prime contract awards.
  • Lead advance acquisition planning for large or complex procurements.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARs).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of KBR's procurement policies.
  • Review and interpret metric data, anticipating unfavorable events through analysis of data and preparing control strategies.
  • Have hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with company procedures and up-line management review and approval.
  • Responsible for the development of a team, succession planning, coaching, training, and guidance when needed.
  • Positively support and communicate changes in procedures, concepts, practices, and approaches.
  • Advocate transformation and change management.
  • Professionally represent the organization during interfaces with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be the initial escalation point when customers do not feel they are receiving satisfactory service.
  • Actively engage in regular management meetings, making recommendations for and facilitating efficiencies and changes.
  • Support special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a 4-year undergraduate degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field, with a minimum of 10 years procurement experience, and a minimum of 5 years related leadership experience.
  • Or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to 18+ years if non-degreed, with a minimum of 5 years leadership experience.
  • Minimum 8 years subcontract/procurement experience in support of U.S. Government requirements.
  • Possess strong negotiation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with an Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) System.

  • Strong customer service skills.
