After School Program Manager

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Program Manager to create a comprehensive program that encompasses educational, enrichment, and physical activities at a K-8 educational institution.


Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range:
$30 - $34 per hour, commensurate with experience

Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week

Essential Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or at least 48 college units with two years of relevant experience

Availability for a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday

Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB test

Commitment to the academic calendar and summer program schedule

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse staff, students, families, and community members

Proficient in computer skills including email, document creation, and cloud-based applications

Strong classroom and behavior management skills for groups of up to 20 students

Capability to foster a safe and engaging learning environment that integrates academics, enrichment, and physical activities

Experience in hiring, supervising, and evaluating team members

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold a high standard of integrity

Strong communication skills that are open, clear, and consistent

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborative Engagement:


Establish and nurture effective communication and professional relationships with all stakeholders, including community organizations and educational partners.

Work closely with school leadership and staff, including social workers and educators

Facilitate program orientation, promote family involvement, and maintain regular communication with families and the school community

Lead a team of after-school program staff to ensure a supportive learning environment and adherence to best practices

Program Management and Quality Control:
Oversee daily operations of the program to ensure compliance with standards

Guarantee the safety and supervision of children at all times, fostering a positive environment

Create an inclusive atmosphere for students and deliver culturally relevant, project-based learning experiences

Recruit, coach, manage performance, and oversee staff

Collect data, conduct observations, and utilize feedback for continuous program enhancement

Effectively manage student recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and registration to achieve program attendance objectives

Administrative and Financial Oversight:
Ensure all records are meticulously maintained and organized

Accurately track and enter student attendance

Review and approve staff electronic timesheets and contractor invoices

Submit all necessary documentation and reports to relevant organizations in a timely manner

Participate in all meetings, workshops, and activities organized by community and educational agencies

Perform additional duties as assigned.
