After-School Sports Program Coordinator

Under the guidance of the Program Director, the After-School Sports Program Coordinator will oversee daily operations, implement engaging activities, and foster the development of both youth participants and staff.
This role is crucial in maintaining a vibrant, safe, and interactive after-school environment, ensuring a high standard of program quality that introduces youth to a variety of sports while building positive relationships with all stakeholders, including families.
The primary focus of this position is to design a sports curriculum that aligns with the Youth Development Principles of ANTS Sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach a range of sports to children in grades K-5 in an enjoyable, age-appropriate, and energetic manner.
- Arrive punctually each day and ensure a safe and dependable program.
- Prepare your team of 3-4 coaches to effectively deliver the day's sports curriculum.
- Lead discussions with groups of 15-25 children to establish or reinforce class agreements (e.g., STAR sportsmanship, safety protocols).
- Assist in staff training to reinforce ANTS Sports procedures and protocols.
- Address any on-site incidents with care and adhere to ANTS procedures.
- Follow established procedures for various behavioral issues (e.g., shyness, verbal conflicts).
- Cultivate strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, and school personnel.
- Ensure the safe dismissal of children according to site-specific requirements.
- Set up equipment prior to and clean up after the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passion for sports and physical activity.
- Enjoyment of outdoor activities for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills with both children and adults.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- Availability on weekdays from 1:30 PM - 5 PM (12:30 PM - 5 PM on Wednesdays).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in youth programs.
- At least 6 months in a supervisory capacity.
- CPR and First Aid certification (training provided upon hire).
- Clearance from fingerprint background check.
- TB Test clearance.
