Extension Educator II

The Extension Educator II will plan, conduct, and evaluate educational workshops and training sessions with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible youth and adults for SNAP-ED in the Boston area, as detailed in the Annual SNAP-ED Program Plan.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the development and implementation of the SNAP-ED program in the Boston area, organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions for SNAP eligible youth and adults using research-based information.
- Assist project leader with project management, including budgeting, as assigned, and prepare required plans and reports.
- Participate in needs assessment, formulation of program objectives, and design of delivery methods.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level in matters of Extension policy and procedure, and with community groups in areas of nutrition, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Participate in SNAP-ED teams and staff meetings, and maintain and increase personal and professional competence through participation in in-service training, professional association activities, and continuing education.
- Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity which is not restricted by access to public or private transportation.
- Excellent interpersonal and group process skills, demonstrated ability to participate effectively in professional team efforts and with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week.
