Job SummaryThe Extension Educator II will play a key role in planning, conducting, and evaluating educational workshops and training sessions for SNAP-eligible youth and adults in the Boston area. This position is based out of our Malden, MA regional extension office and serves the greater Boston area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the SNAP-ED program in the Boston area, organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions using research-based information.
- Assist with project management, including budgeting, and prepare required plans and reports.
- Participate in needs assessment, formulation of program objectives, and design of delivery methods.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level, collaborating with community organizations and promoting nutrition, health, and disease prevention initiatives.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of program effectiveness and prepare reports as required.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity.
- Excellent interpersonal and group process skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability to implement adult education theories and practices with diverse audiences.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
This position is based out of our Malden, MA regional extension office and serves the greater Boston area. The typical office environment requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and drive to various locations to transport nutrition education materials.
Work ScheduleMonday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week.
