Job SummaryThe Extension Educator II will play a key role in planning, conducting, and evaluating educational workshops and training sessions for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible youth and adults in the Central region. This position is based out of the Auburn, MA Extension Office and requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of the SNAP-ED program in the Central region, including organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions.
- Collaborate with project leaders to manage projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Participate in needs assessment, program planning, and evaluation, including preparing required plans and reports.
- Contribute to applied scholarly or creative activity, or research as applicable.
- Work with community organizations to deliver programs and seek continued funding support.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level and participate in the development of promotional materials.
- Maintain and increase personal and professional competence through in-service training, professional association activities, and continuing education.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of program effectiveness and prepare reports as required.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity.
- Excellent interpersonal and group process skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge and ability to implement adult education theories and practices with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently to organize multiple tasks and set priorities for action in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
This position is based out of the Auburn, MA Extension Office and requires the ability to work in a typical office environment. The position also requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and drive to various locations to transport nutrition education materials.
