Extension Educator II

The Extension Educator II will play a key role in planning, conducting, and evaluating educational workshops and training sessions for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible youth and adults in the Central region. This position is based out of the Auburn, MA Extension Office and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve program goals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the development and implementation of the SNAP-ED program in the Central region, including organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions.
- Participate in needs assessment, formulation of program objectives, and design of delivery methods, as well as prepare required plans and reports.
- Assist with applied scholarly or creative activity, or research as applicable, and participate in overall program management.
- Seek continued funding support for the program through collaboration with community organizations and work with collaborating organizations in the delivery of programs at assigned program sites.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level in matters of Extension policy and procedure, and with community groups in areas of nutrition, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity, and excellent interpersonal and group process skills.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability to implement adult education theories and practices with diverse audiences.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
This position is based out of the Auburn, MA Extension Office and requires the ability to work in a typical office environment, with occasional travel to various locations to transport nutrition education materials.
