Job SummaryThe Extension Educator II will play a key role in planning, conducting, and evaluating educational workshops and training sessions for SNAP-eligible youth and adults in the Boston area. This position is based out of our Malden, MA regional extension office and serves the greater Boston area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the SNAP-ED program in the Boston area, including organizing and teaching educational workshops and training sessions.
- Assist with project management, including budgeting and applied scholarly or creative activity.
- Participate in needs assessment, formulation of program objectives, and design of delivery methods.
- Represent UMass Extension at the local level and participate in the development of promotional materials.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of program effectiveness and prepare reports as required.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of related professional experience.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
- Ability to maintain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and statewide activity.
- Excellent interpersonal and group process skills.
- Knowledge and ability to implement adult education theories and practices.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
This position is based out of our Malden, MA regional extension office and serves the greater Boston area. The typical office environment requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and drive to various locations to transport nutrition education materials.
Work ScheduleThis position has a Monday-Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week. The opportunity for a hybrid work schedule is available.
