Job Description

Proof of the Pudding, a premier catering and concessions partner, is seeking a skilled Hospitality Bartender to join their Premium team. As a Hospitality Bartender, you will be responsible for product inventory, making simple beverages, following policies, and bar clean up post-event. Work assignments and tasks can change daily based on the immediate needs of the event calendar.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for both pre- and post-bar set-up/breakdown responsibilities.
  • Sets bar up in a timely manner, including icing down product.
  • Communicates well with bar back personnel during the event to assist them with replenishment during shift.
  • Greets all guests and gives exceptional customer service.
  • Attentive to guests' needs throughout the entire event.
  • Cleans bar after closing, discards excess ice.
  • Records closing inventory.
  • Responsible for putting away all inventory as directed.
  • Follows all federal, local, and venue alcohol policies.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of bartending experience.
  • Must be TIPs/TEAM certified (will accept Team certification or will provide training).
  • Knowledge of upscale/VIP service styles required.
  • Must be willing to work in Newport, RI.
  • Must be available for all event days.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position will work out of and report to the Newport Yachting Center Marina. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. This position will often move throughout the grounds and venue on different terrains.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of being in one place, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting up-to 30 pounds.
