Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement projects and engineering functions. This role will focus on developing, implementing, and auditing methods and manufacturing processes to reduce product costs, increase productivity and capacity, and enhance quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Maintain Safe Manufacturing Methods: Collaborate with the design and production teams to develop and implement safe manufacturing methods that support product design and production.
  2. Evaluate Production Impact and Manufacturability: Assess the production impact and manufacturability of engineering designs to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
  3. Review and Provide Input on Engineering Design Changes: Review and provide input on engineering design changes to ensure they align with manufacturing capabilities and processes.
  4. Evaluate and Solve Production Problems: Identify and resolve production problems related to mechanized equipment, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  5. Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  6. Evaluate Ease of Manufacture and Labor Hours: Assess the ease of manufacture and labor hours required for products, considering specification changes and process improvements.
  7. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: Determine the root cause of production problems, implement containment measures, and develop corrective actions to prevent production delays or work stoppages.
  8. Efficient Layout Design: Develop efficient and organized layouts of manufacturing areas to optimize production processes and workflows.
  9. EHS Program Promotion: Promote and facilitate the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Equipment Justification and Procurement: Justify and implement the purchase of equipment to support manufacturing processes and improve productivity.
  11. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with all departments, customers, and suppliers to perform duties and achieve manufacturing goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 2 years of manufacturing experience with a background in assembly processes
  • Skills: Familiarity with statistical analysis procedures, ability to read and follow schematic drawings and diagrams, basic machining, assembly, and CAD skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with production staff and management
Working Conditions

Working conditions are either in an office environment or a warehouse with a cement floor. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and the noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work, and the employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
