Position Overview:

KEMET Electronics Corporation is looking for a skilled Application Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the chance to engage with customers and collaborate with sales and product teams to tackle design challenges. As a Field Application Engineer, you will accompany the sales team within your designated region, interacting with a variety of clients who are driving innovation in their respective fields.

The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, a passion for learning about cutting-edge technologies, and a strong desire to work alongside industry leaders. Your responsibilities will include gaining in-depth knowledge of KEMET's product offerings and their applications to support customers' engineering teams in addressing technical design aspects.

As part of your role, you will identify technological trends and communicate customer needs to our Product Business Unit (PBU) managers, contributing to the development of product roadmaps. You will also have the opportunity to share your expertise by conducting training sessions and creating technical documentation for design engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise in applications ranging from digital processing to high-power inverters across various markets, including Computing/Telecom, Industrial, Defense/Aerospace, Medical, and Consumer.
  • Acquire comprehensive product knowledge across all KEMET brands.
  • Identify and maximize cross-selling opportunities for KEMET products with clients.
  • Act as the technical liaison between customers, product managers, and manufacturing teams in collaboration with sales.
  • Channel customer insights to business unit development teams and marketing for inclusion in product strategies.
  • Deliver technical training on new products and technologies to customers and sales personnel.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams regarding market trends and product opportunities.
  • Develop and present sales tools, including presentations and technical information.
  • Address technical inquiries promptly and resolve any technical objections.
  • Contribute to the growth of our digital design tools ecosystem.
  • Engage in industry groups that are vital to our core business.
  • Participate in industry events and customer engagements.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Sales calls, call reports, selling tools (presentations, technical information, demos), articles, application notes, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in the semiconductor or power supply design sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and simulation tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
