The selected candidate will work in an MUFG office or client locations four days a week, with one day allocated for remote work. Further details will be provided by our recruitment team.

The Financial Management division in the Americas is dedicated to excellence in finance, ensuring timely and precise decision support for business initiatives, leading transformative changes, and promoting operational efficiency.

Overview of the Summer Analyst Program:

This comprehensive 10-week program is tailored for rising seniors, offering hands-on experience and exposure to the financial management landscape. You will be assigned to a specific group, enabling you to swiftly acquire the skills and knowledge essential for becoming a vital team member. You will collaborate with MUFG professionals at various levels who will act as your managers and mentors. In addition to your designated responsibilities, you will engage with fellow Summer Analysts and connect with the Next Generation Leaders Employee Relations Group for additional mentorship to support your career growth.

Training Opportunities:

Alongside specialized training for your tasks and projects, you will have access to learning sessions led by finance leaders throughout the program. As a MUFG employee, you will also benefit from our extensive online training platform, featuring hundreds of courses covering topics from Excel to Leadership Development.

Support and Mentorship:

Your assigned manager will set professional development goals and provide guidance, conducting performance reviews to support our summer analysts. You will have the chance to network with colleagues across various business lines and levels within the organization. In our inclusive environment, senior staff will recognize your contributions and the impact of your work. By the conclusion of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of the finance sector and will be paired with a mentor and a buddy to assist you throughout your internship.

Career Advancement:

High-performing summer analysts may receive offers for full-time positions upon graduation. Depending on your interests, you may be offered a defined full-time analyst role in one of our finance groups or enter a three-year analyst rotational program, allowing you to gain exposure across multiple finance disciplines.

Internship Opportunities:
  • Business Unit Controllers: Ensure assurance, control, and maintenance over the general ledger, which is fundamental for financial and managerial reporting.
  • Data & Financial Operations Governance: Assist in preparing, tracking, and executing governance activities with business partners and lines of defense, coordinating to meet audit and regulatory requests.
  • Enterprise Reporting & Analytics: Support the production processes that deliver critical data and analytics to bank management for informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, candidates should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities during the application process:
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Banking and Finance.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between Winter 2025 and Spring 2026.
  • Solid academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop innovative solutions, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas while collaborating with various business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Leadership experience in team settings, such as projects or extracurricular activities.
  • Prior experience in finance-related roles or data analysis, including:
  • Financial or managerial reporting.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Variance analysis and commentary.
  • Strategic business planning.
The typical base pay range for this role is $30 per hour. This position may also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
