Summer Analyst Program Overview:

This immersive 10-week Finance Summer Analyst Program is tailored for rising seniors, providing hands-on experience and exposure to the financial management landscape. You will be assigned to a specific group, allowing you to rapidly acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become a vital team member. Collaborating with MUFG professionals at various levels, you will receive guidance and mentorship throughout your journey.

Training:

Alongside comprehensive training in your designated tasks and projects, you will participate in learning sessions led by finance leaders within the bank. Additionally, you will have access to our extensive online training platform, featuring numerous courses ranging from Excel to Leadership Development.

Support & Mentorship:

Your assigned manager will set professional development goals and provide guidance, conducting performance reviews to support our summer analysts. You will have opportunities to network with colleagues across different business lines and levels within the organization. In our inclusive environment, senior team members will recognize your contributions and the impact of your work. By the end of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of the finance sector, supported by a mentor and a buddy throughout your internship.

Career Progression:

Outstanding summer analysts may receive offers for full-time positions upon graduation. Depending on your interests, these offers may lead to a defined analyst role in one of our finance groups or a three-year rotational program, providing exposure to various finance disciplines.

Internship Opportunities:
  • Business Unit Controllers: Ensure assurance, control, and maintenance over the general ledger, which is essential for financial and managerial reporting.
  • Data & Financial Operations Governance: Assist in preparing, tracking, and executing governance activities in collaboration with business partners and lines of defense.
  • Enterprise Reporting & Analytics: Support production processes that deliver critical data and analytics to bank management for decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, candidates should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities during the application process:
  • Strong interest in banking and finance career paths.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between Winter 2025 and Spring 2026.
  • Solid academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Self-starter capable of synthesizing ambiguous information and developing innovative solutions, both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively articulate thoughts while collaborating with multiple business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred:

Distinguish yourself by highlighting the following preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities during the application process:
  • Leadership experience in team projects or extracurricular activities.
  • Prior finance-related and data analysis experience, which may include:
    • Financial or managerial reporting.
    • Forecasting, budgeting, and expense management.
    • Variance analysis and commentary.
    • Strategic business planning.
The typical base pay range for this role is $30 per hour. This position may also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
