Role Summary

As a proactive organization, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our members and staff. The Group Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the guidance, supervision, and safety of youth, ensuring a stimulating and engaging experience. This position involves building strong relationships with members through positive interactions during various program activities. Additionally, the Group Leader will support the management of program assistants and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily activities for a group of boys aged 7 to 11 years.
  • Design, implement, and lead age-appropriate curricula, activities, and games.
  • Provide guidance and support, facilitating problem-solving and behavior management as necessary.
  • Engage in both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and transportation logistics.
  • Ensure the proper care and organization of materials, reporting any issues to the Program Director.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to address inappropriate behavior and communicate incidents with relevant staff.
  • Participate in mandatory professional development sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth development, education, or after-school programming.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Well-organized and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
