Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Youth Programs coordinates the daily administration of all youth-related program initiatives both on and off-site including promotion, implementation, and evaluation. Working in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Youth Programs, administrative tasks can range from recruiting students, supporting faculty with classroom preparation, and scheduling teaching assistants, to producing final presentations, maintaining the image archive, and reporting out on student demographics. All programming reflects ICP's mission of social change through photography and visual culture and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Work in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Youth Programs and faculty in coordinating the administration of Teen Academy seasonal courses and the yearlong Teen Academy Imagemakers program.Support promotion/recruitment of classes Track admissions and all student information and evaluations Organize curricular files for classroom preparation and implementation Schedule classrooms, studio times, and open labs Sign out needed equipment Help to produce final class presentations, annual exhibitions, a culminating website, students' publications, and graduationCommunicate with prospective and participating students, parents/guardians, and educators via phone and email, as well as in-person, to provide information about programming and facilitate course enrollmentTogether with the Senior Manager of Youth Programs, work with Faculty Liaison in providing course details for contractsTogether with the Senior Manager of Youth Programs, work with other Education staff in providing course descriptions for student registration system and course schedules for the overall classroom calendarSchedule Guest Artists as required in each course syllabus across programs Schedule field trips as required in each course syllabus across programs Work with the Teaching Assistant Liaison to onboard and schedule Teaching Assistants and paid Alumni Youth Program Assistants In collaboration with partnership staff at THE POINT, assist with related weekly administrative needs for our Partnership, ICP at THE POINTAssist the Senior Manager of Youth Programs with the scholarship application process for Teen Academy (at least 50% of students receive need-based financial aid) to present for review and approval by Director of EducationTogether with the Senior Manager of Youth Programs, build relationships with prospective students, parents, school/educator and community-based partners locally, nationally, and internationally in promoting the programHelp facilitate faculty and part-time staff onboarding procedures and trainings Work with the equipment staff in administering the loan of cameras and other equipment as needed to equip students with all materials necessary for their participationAssist in the creation of forms and paperwork including registration, class preparation, student profiles, evaluations, etc. Support occasional Teen Academy Imagemakers classes/workshops to introduce guests and manage related administrative agendas Support the Senior Manager of Youth Programs in collaboration with Marketing and Communications department staff in managing the content needed for Youth Programs promotion through our website, newsletters, email outreach, advertisements, online and additional social media presence, etc.Maintain the archive of Youth Programs students' work and class documentation including images, writings, and activity shotsCollaborations, Tours, and WorkshopsAssist with additional youth initiatives as they arise including participation in ICP Public Programs, local festivals, national conferences, etc.As needed, work with Museum Education staff to schedule guided tours of our ICP museum exhibitions and school facilities for Teen Academy classes as well as other community-based youth groups Help serve interested youth educators and youth workers seeking program information and engagementAdditional Responsibilities:Support participating students and alumni through their classes/program participation as related to their ICP educationParticipate in bi-weekly Education Division meetingsParticipate in Interdepartmental meetings as neededCompile and synthesize statistical data for Development and Finance department needsUpdate comparative program research Supervisory Responsibilities:The employee is required to commute between locationsThe employee is required to work in a general public environment (face-to-face contact with the public).

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required including arts administration and education, youth and community developmentExperience Qualifications:2-3 years in arts administration, teaching youth, and community engagementExperience in leading tours, and public speakingExperience with photography related curricula and lesson plans Prior program coordination experience is required Specialized Knowledge, Licenses or Certifications required:N/ACompetency Requirements (Skills and Abilities)Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively toward shared goalsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage ongoing project deadlinesStrong program coordination skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong community building skillsEffective and collaborative team playerSolid understanding of techniques, aesthetics, and uses of darkroom and digital photographyStrong computer skills (Windows, Mac OS X, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, proficiency in digital imaging capture, scan & print)Proficiency in Spanish is preferredMust have flexibility to work some weekends and eveningsWorking Conditions
