We focus on addressing the diverse social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our youth, fostering positive qualities and broadening our influence.

Role Summary

As a proactive organization in response to COVID-19, we prioritize the safety of our members and staff. The Group Leader plays a crucial role in providing direct supervision, guidance, and a secure environment for youth. This position is essential in creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating experience for our members. The Group Leader will establish positive relationships through meaningful interactions during program activities and will assist in overseeing program assistants and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily activities for a group of boys aged 7 to 11 years.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate age-appropriate curricula, activities, and games.
  • Provide guidance and support in problem-solving and behavior management.
  • Engage in both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Assist with daily preparations and clean-up, as well as transportation needs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of materials and report any issues to the Program Director.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to address inappropriate behavior and communicate incidents to the Age Group Director and relevant staff.
  • Participate in mandatory professional development training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth development, education, or afterschool programming.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Well-organized, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
