Assistant Facility and Equipment Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities and Equipment Operations Specialist to join our team at Printfly. This role involves overseeing the management of facilities and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities Management:
- Assist in daily operations and maintenance of facilities to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
- Coordinate routine inspections and maintenance of the building and grounds to prevent equipment failures and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supervise repair activities for timely issue resolution and ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with established procedures.
- Manage facility-related projects such as renovations and upgrades to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our facilities.
- Equipment Management:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Schedule preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failures and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
- Perform routine inspections and safety audits of machinery to identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to prevent accidents.
- Monitor equipment performance and take corrective actions when needed to ensure that all equipment is operating within established parameters.
- Assist in the procurement of new equipment and parts to ensure that our facilities and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
- Project Management:
- Support the planning, execution, and completion of various projects to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our facilities and equipment.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the successful completion of all projects.
- Prepare and present project reports to management to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and status.
- Inventory and Procurement:
- Manage the inventory of facility and equipment supplies to ensure that all necessary materials are available when needed.
- Coordinate with vendors to procure materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and maintenance activities to ensure that all necessary information is available for future reference.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with management to implement maintenance strategies and ensure that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
- Provide training and support to staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Create a collaborative working environment that encourages open communication and teamwork.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain documentation related to facility and equipment management to ensure that all necessary information is available for future reference.
- Prepare reports and records of maintenance activities to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of maintenance progress and status.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for facility and equipment needs to ensure that all necessary resources are available when needed.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of building systems and equipment operation.
- Minimum 3 years experience in facility and equipment management.
- Knowledge of facility maintenance, equipment operation, and project management.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in facility management software and tools.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage external contractors and service providers.
- Forklift Certified.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- May need to work in various environmental conditions.
