Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Department Head to oversee the operations of our Housekeeping Department at Hyatt House & AC Hotel in Lansing, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our high standards of cleanliness and customer service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Management: Manage the Housekeeping Department within budget, accurately forecasting expenses, and preparing annual departmental budgets.
  • Financial Management: Analyze financial and operating information to adjust labor, supplies, materials, and other costs to achieve budget.
  • Staff Management: Manage human resources functions, including recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance reviews, pay and recognition programs to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Customer Service: Emphasize training and development as a way of doing business to empower employees to successfully perform their jobs and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Safety and Security: Manage safety programs to protect guests and employees, ensuring OSHA requirements are met and minimizing workers' compensation claims.
  • Quality Control: Maintain physical product standards by inspecting rooms, public areas, and laundry facilities to ensure proper working condition and departmental supplies are stocked at proper levels.
  • Communication: Coordinate with General Manager and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as related to guest rooms and public areas.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate positive leadership, inspiring employees to meet and exceed standards, and promoting employee empowerment.
