Role Summary

The City Manager position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including site management, customer relations, marketing, staffing, and mentorship. This role operates independently, ensuring the successful delivery of our programs in the designated region while adhering to all safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Lead and mentor summer camp staff, providing motivation and support to site leadership teams.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive connections with camp leaders and instructors.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist site leadership in addressing employee and customer concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to camp procedures and safety standards.
  • Staff Training: Support the training of camp personnel.

Recruitment & Training:

  • Identify, interview, and onboard top talent for instructor and supervisory roles.
  • Assist in training sessions for instructors and site leaders.

Marketing & Promotions:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote programs within local communities through events and presentations.
  • Establish strong community relationships where our camps operate.

Customer Engagement:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to engage with clients.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and professionally, striving for effective resolutions.
  • Analyze customer feedback weekly and proactively reach out to unsatisfied clients to improve their experience.

Success Metrics:

  • By a specified timeframe, successfully reorganize camp-related equipment for efficient site delivery.
  • Engage with numerous schools or partners to raise awareness of our organization as a preferred employer for summer positions.
  • Research neighborhoods and secure multiple sites for summer programming.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local educational institutions to promote our offerings and gather interest from families.

  • Undergraduate degree in business, operations, management, or recreation.
  • Experience in recreation, children's programming, hospitality, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with workforce management systems.
  • Experience in delivering training to youth.
  • Background in sales or prospecting.
  • Prior camp management experience.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is a term role with part-time hours initially, transitioning to full-time during peak seasons. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, based on a standard workweek.
