About the Role

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director, Learning and Development to lead our member education and learning initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the learning experience for our members, driving business growth, and advancing the Institute's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learning Program Management: Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs, including online courses, workshops, and conferences, to meet the needs of AIA members.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, enhance member engagement, and advance the Institute's mission.
  • Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality learning content, including course development, instructional design, and curriculum development.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Foster partnerships with internal stakeholders, member committees, and external organizations to identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of learning professionals to achieve business objectives and advance the Institute's mission.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in learning and development, with a proven track record of success in managing learning programs, developing strategic plans, and leading teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and manage teams, and experience with online learning platforms and technologies.
