Senior Director of Development

Join the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) as we seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive development program that drives growth and revenue for our organization.

About the Role

The Senior Director of Development will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a strategic fundraising plan to achieve annual revenue goals
  • Leading a team of development professionals to achieve fundraising objectives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and other key stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the President & CEO and leadership team to identify priorities for fundraising and develop strategies for program expansion
  • Preparing the organization's development plan to correspond with the annual budget, outlining revenue and expenses, and monitoring progress against goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of professional fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Experience managing a development budget of $2,000,000.00+
  • Established success in soliciting and securing major and planned gifts
  • Demonstrated success in managing advancement services and donor management software
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of development professionals
  • Strong understanding of digital fundraising strategies, including peer-to-peer fundraising and online giving platforms
