About The Position

The Account Relations Specialist will be responsible for managing and servicing past due accounts originated by our strategic dealership partners.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Communicate, maintain, and provide service to our business relationships with Strategic Dealers, our Executive Branch department, and customers.
  • Research and work closely with Dealerships, Customers, and other internal departments to investigate and remedy special loan statuses.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers, including offering suggestions as to how they can meet their obligations, propose alternative payment methods, and establish payment procedures.
  • Assist borrowers in devising a strategy to allow them to keep their vehicle while meeting the obligations of the loan.
  • Accurately and professionally document account information and collection activities.
  • Locate customers through the use of databases and references (Skip Trace).
  • Act as a service provider for internal and external customers regarding strategic dealer loans.
  • Evaluate strategic customer concerns and/or request to determine the best solution and tactfully educate the customer on any required course(s) of action.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers, dealers, and other supporting departments to facilitate interdepartmental coordination and communication.
  • Accept and schedule payments for customers in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit payment deferment and due date change correspondence.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing, and copying.
Essential Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the auto lending, collections, or consumer lending industry with a strong track record.
  • Strong leadership skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem solving, planning, organizing, decision making, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Available to work a flexible work schedule and some Saturdays.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
Salary:

$26.50/hour + Bonus
