Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Trade Specialist to join our team at FedEx Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with importers to ensure accurate and timely documentation for customs clearance
  • Process commodities that require specialized processing to reduce the risk of liquidated ages and penalties
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from various sources, including databases, SOPs, tariff books, and the internet
  • Data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs
  • Handle all PGA (Participating Government Agencies) documentation
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • Work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx Logistics teams, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-level service to customers
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings
  • Perform entry reconciliations as needed
  • Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
  • Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems
  • Perform entry reviews as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 12 months of industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months of work experience required
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required
  • CCS and/or Brokers license preferred
  • Required skills: MS Office, Outlook, Office equipment, excellent communication skills, verbal and written, organizational skills, inter-personal skills, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently with minimum supervision, ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Preferred qualifications: knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules
Work Environment

This role will be hybrid, with some work-from-home opportunity and some in-office work, dependent on company policy.

Pay Transparency

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations.

Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
