Position Overview:
As a key player in our logistics team, you will oversee the essential documentation required by US Customs and various Government Agencies for the clearance of intricate and high-risk shipments. Your role is crucial in navigating the complexities of regulatory requirements and tariff classifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients regarding specific commodities that necessitate specialized processing to mitigate risks associated with liquidated damages and penalties through accurate classification and appropriate duty preferences.
  • Accurately determine the classification of goods for customs clearance utilizing databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, and other resources.
  • Perform data entry and manage the processing of various import-related documents for submission to US Customs and all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
  • Maintain and update all shipment documentation to comply with record-keeping regulations.
  • Adhere to all international import and export regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, departments, FedEx operations, clients, and government entities to provide a high level of service.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments efficiently.
  • Handle remote filings and perform entry reconciliations as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental and organizational policies.
  • Follow up on customs-related issues and resolve any problems that arise.
  • Conduct entry reviews as required.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of brokerage experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer interaction is necessary.
  • Proficient data entry and keyboard skills are essential.
  • CCS certification and/or a brokerage license are preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner) is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in utilizing multiple systems and reference materials.
  • Experience interacting with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules is required.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Paid training will be provided.
