Position Overview:
As a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be pivotal in managing the documentation necessary for US Customs and Government Agencies regarding intricate and high-risk shipments. These shipments are categorized as such due to their regulatory complexities and tariff variations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Engage with clients concerning commodities that necessitate specialized processing to mitigate the risk of penalties and liquidated damages through accurate classification and duty preference applications.
  • Ensure the correct classification of goods for customs clearance using databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, and other resources.
  • Perform data entry and manage various import-related documents for submission to US Customs and other Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
  • Maintain and update all shipment documentation to comply with record-keeping regulations.
  • Adhere to all international import and export laws.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, departments, FedEx operations, clients, and government entities to provide a high level of service.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments efficiently.
  • Handle remote filings as required.
  • Conduct entry reconciliations when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental and organizational policies.
  • Follow up on customs-related issues and resolve them effectively.
  • Perform entry reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of brokerage experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of customer interaction experience is necessary.
  • Proficient data entry and keyboard skills are essential.
  • CCS certification and/or a brokerage license are preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and standard office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with multiple systems and reference materials.
  • Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff across all levels.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules is mandatory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Paid training will be provided.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Compensation:
Pay rate is $22.20 per hour.
