Cafe Manager Job Description

At Caffe Vita, we are passionate about serving high-quality coffee drinks and providing exceptional customer service in a clean and organized environment.

  • We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to join our team, responsible for leading the daily operations of our cafe, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Marketing and Retail Operations Manager to develop and execute sales-driving strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to meet or exceed expectations of their job descriptions.
  • Maintain a minimum number of weekly bar shifts, determined in collaboration with Retail Operations Manager.
  • Achieve sales goals and control costs of sales to meet established budgets.
  • Maintain a clean cafe environment.
  • Develop and implement on-going preventive maintenance and upkeep schedules.
  • Ensure fully stocked and faced merchandise shelves.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and products.
  • Follow established protocol for submitting orders to Customer Service.
  • Maintain full compliance with accounting, financial reporting, and cash deposit procedures.
  • Track and report payroll.
  • Respond to emails on a daily basis.
  • Offer ongoing training and development opportunities to staff.
  • Serve as a role model during high-stress or high-volume periods.
  • Communicate clear performance objectives to staff.
  • Maintain and provide performance feedback for staff.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food and beverage management.
  • Advanced knowledge of specialty coffee and tea markets.
  • Salesmanship and practical merchandising skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Diplomacy in managing conflict.
  • Goal-oriented with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Multi-tasking skills.
  • On-the-job flexibility and dependability.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze income statements.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $19-$25/hour + Tips ($15-$35 per hour depending on location).
