Senior Economist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to lead business optimization efforts at Amazon. This role will focus on developing and implementing data-driven strategies to enhance our Stores and Advertising businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics and experience with econometrics, machine learning, and statistical modeling. They will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to verify the efficacy of different scientific solutions in production.

About the Role

  1. Lead the development of economic theory and deliver econometrics and machine learning models to unlock new opportunities for jointly optimizing sellers'/vendors' decision-making between Stores and Ads.
  2. Partner with cross-team technical contributors (scientists, software engineers, product managers) to implement solutions in production.
  3. Develop effective business narratives and scientific papers to communicate to both business and technical audiences.

Key Requirements

  • PhD in economics or equivalent.
  • Experience in building analytic or scientific data products or solutions.

Benefits and Opportunities
