Job Overview

Position Summary: The Amusement Park Manager is tasked with ensuring the safe, efficient, and clean operation of Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland Play Area.

Key Responsibilities: Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Manage the safe and effective functioning of the amusement park.
  • Recruit, schedule, and oversee staff to guarantee exceptional customer service while complying with the departmental budget.
  • Design and implement motivational programs for team members.
  • Create training sessions and workshops for Supervisors and Leads.
  • Assist in overall park safety training and participate in safety meetings.
  • Address in-park incidents and ride shutdown situations.
  • Oversee the ticketing system to ensure seamless operation and user satisfaction.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels in operational areas and place orders as required.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding ride concerns, including downtime, safety, and operational training.
  • Ensure staff are knowledgeable about incident protocols.
  • Handle guest inquiries both in person and through electronic means.
  • Maintain a prominent and approachable presence during operational hours.
  • Foster and sustain positive relationships with vendors, other departments, and staff.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure successful execution of internal events.
  • Manage all disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in the development and attendance of all staff training and orientation sessions.
  • Ensure all time sheets, time adjustment forms, and schedules are accurately completed and approved in accordance with payroll policies.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Responsible for overseeing all Amusement Park personnel.
  • Act as a direct report to supervisors and team leads.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recommending rewards and disciplinary actions when necessary; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience managing frontline personnel is required.
  • Ability to foster a positive rapport with a team to achieve objectives through motivation and delegation, as well as established systems.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters such as payroll or employee medical issues.
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures and suggest efficiencies and improvements.
  • Must be able to work independently and make informed decisions, handling confidential matters as necessary.
  • Completion of AIMS/NAARSO Operations Level 1 is required at the first available opportunity.
  • Completion of International Ride Training Instructor Training Course is required at the first available opportunity.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid training Course is required at the first available opportunity.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 within the first year of employment is required.

The employee may also need to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, grasp, talk, or hear. Specific vision abilities required for this role may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands will require the employee to frequently lift or move objects up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals such as cleaning agents, as well as outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically normal for an outdoor setting, with occasional elevated sound levels during special events.
