- Oversees sanitation practices and corrects deficiencies.
- Engages with parents regarding student accounts.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor works for seven and a half hours daily, including a half-hour lunch break. A fifteen-minute break is permitted if the schedule allows.
The role requires working in conditions that may include:- Hot and humid environments
- Exposure to water, cleaning agents, and sanitizers
- Frequent temperature changes when entering and exiting cold storage areas
- Hard flooring surfaces
- High noise levels
- Proficient in providing written and verbal instructions to food service staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Capable of reading and interpreting recipes.
- Skilled in writing and following instructions.
Ability to operate and maintain institutional food service equipment, including:
Ovens, Refrigerators, Steam pressure cookers, Freezers, Steam jacketed kettles, Choppers, Steam tables, Microwave ovens, Warming cabinets, Cashier stations, Fryers, Mixers, Ranges, Vacuum cleaners, Slicers, Floor buffers, Dishmachines, Disposers.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in using:
Desktop computers, Laptop computers, Printers.
Physical Requirements:
The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor must possess:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to lift heavier items (up to 100 pounds) with assistance.
- Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to maneuver equipment such as food carts and mop buckets.
- Capacity to reach overhead for storage.
- Skills in cleaning and maintaining floors.
- Ability to transport oneself to training and meetings.
The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor must demonstrate:
- Mathematical skills for handling fractions, decimals, and basic arithmetic.
- Data entry and cash handling abilities.
- Understanding of written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor must be able to work collaboratively in team settings, share resources, and respond positively to guidance and suggestions for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:- A minimum of one (1) year of successful experience in a Child Nutrition program is required.
- Certification or temporary certification in Manager certification, as approved by relevant educational authorities, is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
