Installation Operations Manager

Overview:
As the Installation Operations Manager, you will hold the pivotal role of overseeing the Installation Department, ensuring efficient management of quotes, bids, staffing, and the successful execution of installations for Hussmann and associated equipment, catering to both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the Installation Department's profitability by accurately estimating job sites and developing fair quotations for the installation of Hussmann and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to review project drawings and floor plans during the pre-project phase, maintaining ongoing communication throughout the installation process.
  • Direct all workgroups involved in installation projects, including the assignment of internal personnel such as foremen and technicians, while also coordinating subcontractors and contractors.
  • Supervise all aspects of contracting to ensure successful installations, including carpentry, electrical, and piping work.
  • Review initial contracts, select qualified candidates for tasks, conduct regular site inspections, and manage job files, material deliveries, and outstanding installation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all government EPA-CFC regulations and safety standards by conducting regular meetings to educate all project participants.
  • Coordinate with the Service Department for the transition of warranty work, monitoring outstanding and completed tasks throughout the installation lifecycle.
  • Assist the fulfillment leader and administrative team in accurate billing by ensuring timely completion of all invoicing documents and time cards related to the installation project.
  • Foster strong customer relationships by maintaining regular contact with current and prospective clients to promote the growth and sustainability of the installation business.
  • Oversee all operational matters related to installations, including equipment inspections and inventory management.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the department through regular safety checks and weekly meetings.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, or a combination of five years of relevant experience and training; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in management and supervisory roles.
  • Possession of relevant licenses and certifications (e.g., Refrigeration Certificate, Contractor's License, Construction Management).
  • In-depth knowledge of construction and safety regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to interpret renderings and technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and business insight.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours as needed.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
