Service Operations Manager

The Field Service Operations Leader will oversee the management of service activities within a designated area. This role encompasses the leadership and development of field service personnel, support for the acquisition process, and fostering customer relationships for maintenance and growth. The individual will be accountable for the effective execution of services by guiding a team of technicians to meet operational goals. Reporting to the Area Service Manager is a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive operations of assigned Service Teams, ensuring the fulfillment of contracts, emergency services, renewal of quoted work, warranty claims, and change requests.
  • Establish, secure, and nurture customer relationships within the assigned district.
  • Collaborate with the Area Service Manager to develop forecasts, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assess risks and vulnerabilities. Participate in the creation, review, and validation of customer contracts and estimates.
  • Assist the Area Service Manager in evaluating departmental workforce requirements and support the recruitment process for Service Technician roles, including candidate selection and offer letters.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for assigned Service Technicians, recommending merit increases, promotions, training opportunities, and managing disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to all workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and other relevant legislative requirements.
  • Facilitate and support branch-level safety initiatives, including prevention, investigation, reporting, training, and corrective action plans.
  • Assist with customer billing and collection processes, along with any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient understanding of basic refrigeration principles, with knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong business insight.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as needed.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated region.
