Role Overview:

The Lead Security Operations Analyst is responsible for identifying and assessing potential information security threats and vulnerabilities, collaborating with business stakeholders to prioritize risks. This role involves developing strategies and solutions to address these risks, implementing them, monitoring their effectiveness, and continuously enhancing SOC operations. The Analyst will manage, mitigate, or remediate incidents and events, ensuring proper documentation as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a variety of resources, including industry news, threat analysis, and historical data, to identify security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with business units and other risk functions to ascertain technology security requirements through methods such as risk assessments.
  • Prioritize security risks and formulate mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting tools, including executive dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
  • Conduct event and alert analysis, providing appropriate resolutions.
  • Oversee incident and event resolution, coordinating communication and reporting.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of security operations.
  • Work alongside IT and information security teams to identify, select, and implement technical controls.
  • Develop security processes and procedures, supporting service-level agreements to maintain security controls.
  • Research and recommend information security hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments.
  • Provide advanced support and analysis during and after security incidents.
  • Engage in security investigations and compliance reviews as required.
  • Assess new threats and security alerts, recommending appropriate remedial actions.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced skills in information security threat analysis.
  • Extensive experience with security systems and software, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Proficient in evaluating and securing complex systems across various platforms.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving cyber threat landscape.
  • Experience in security incident response and leadership.
  • Expertise in vulnerability management across diverse systems.
  • Ability to address inquiries from audits and clients.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile IT Project Management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and mentoring abilities.
