This position is pivotal in assessing, documenting, and enhancing internal IT audit controls to ensure their effectiveness and operational efficiency. The role involves collaboration with both internal and external audit teams, IT leadership, business units, consultants, and various stakeholders to guarantee compliance with project deliverables.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinates and plans comprehensive computer security strategies in conjunction with IT personnel and management; proposes security policies and initiatives for organization-wide implementation; conducts necessary security assessments.
- Formulates, executes, and sustains policies, procedures, and strategies for system security management and user access in alignment with industry best practices.
- Monitors network usage; investigates policy violations and incidents; recommends appropriate corrective actions.
- Evaluates new applications and network modifications for compliance; proposes enhancements to security measures.
- Ensures adherence to software licensing and information technology reporting standards.
- Offers expertise on security policies and procedures; engages in documentation related to SAP security.
- Administers the IT security budget; manages software licensing agreements and maintenance renewals.
- Designs and implements disaster recovery strategies for various systems.
- Remains informed about emerging security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Supervises personnel, ensures adherence to policies, and addresses employee-related issues.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity systems and internal control mechanisms.
- Knowledge of operating systems, programming languages, and database management systems.
- Comprehension of information security frameworks, standards, and regulations.
- Expertise in systems analysis and design methodologies.
- Ability to align security protocols with organizational objectives.
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, coupled with six years of experience in system security standards and practices.
Substitution Policy
Advanced studies in computer science may substitute for up to two years of experience. Full-time experience in system security may replace educational requirements. CISSP certification can substitute for one year of education or experience.
Promotional Criteria
- At least one year of service in IT Security or Computer Systems Administration within the organization is required.
- Civil service status in related classifications is essential.
