About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Alliant Insurance Services. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and executing client-centered strategies, managing a book of business, and directing/contributing to the work of a multi-disciplined service team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit proven competence in all Account Manager duties and knowledge requirements;
  • Collaborate with a mentor from the sales and service team to manage an assigned book-of-business;
  • Comprehend and communicate all aspects of the renewal process to clients on all lines of coverage (medical through ancillary), including marketed analytics;
  • Assist the sales and service team in the development of multi-year strategic plans for clients;
  • Assist the sales and service team with client financials, and renewal negotiations;
  • Prepare and deliver client renewal presentations and employee enrollment meetings;
  • Actively participate in the team mentorship program;
  • Act as an Affordable Care Act (ACA) subject matter expert;
  • Handle the collection of fees, and the reconciliation and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of the invoicing date;
  • Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information);
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Seven (7) or more years of related work experience;
  • Prior experience in a Benefit Analyst or similar role preferred;
  • Valid insurance license;
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal;
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Employee Benefits insurance, renewal decision life cycle, and insured group marketing analytics;
  • Knowledge of self-insurance and alternative funding arrangements;
  • Knowledge of Employee Benefits products and benefit administration;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good problem solving and time management skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Good presentation skills and ability to conduct open enrollment meetings;
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork;
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
