Organization Overview: Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF) is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to serving low-income individuals in Butler County, Ohio. Since its inception in 1996, our mission has been to enhance the quality of life for residents by addressing the root causes of poverty and empowering individuals towards self-sufficiency.

Position Summary: We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Fiscal Director to become an integral part of our leadership team. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and is pivotal in overseeing the financial administration of all agency programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control all fiscal resources of the agency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports.
  • Assist with employee benefits, salaries, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Conduct general accounting and auditing tasks, including budget planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare employee benefit packages and ensure all necessary taxes are paid.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Oversee the organization's grants management system, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices applicable to non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations affecting non-profit financial operations.
  • Experience in fiscal and program auditing.
  • Understanding of payroll laws and administration.
  • Expertise in complex fund accounting and budget development.
  • Proficiency in computerized financial management and payroll systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Grants Management Systems (GMS) software (training will be provided).

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive management style.
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in non-profit settings.
  • Preferred professional experience in grants accounting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
