We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at Butler County Regional Transit Authority. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly financial reconciliations, including counting and verifying collected fares, and maintaining a counting schedule.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process payables and receivables, coordinate collection of aging receivables, and correct or adjust operational data for client billing as needed.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and coordinate the transfer of funds as needed.
- Asset Management: Manage agency fixed asset records, maintain accurate employee asset records, and secure financial and contract information by completing data backups.
- Financial Security: Maintain accounting controls and financial security by following internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Communication: Communicate clearly and work with customers to solve problems, educate riders, and improve BCRTA service.
- Education: High school diploma required; some higher education preferred.
- Experience: One year in financial management, accounting, or related field desired; some transit, government, or non-profit experience highly desired.
- Skills: Ability to work independently with complex data, strong analytical problem-solving ability, and excellent command of the English language.
