Job Overview

StepStone Hospitality Inc. is in search of a passionate and driven individual to fill the role of Group Sales Manager. We are looking for a seasoned sales professional who is focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences and achieving outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Group Sales Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics, banquet and catering revenues, pricing structures, sales methodologies, yield management, booking patterns, and strategic hotel planning.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to finalize all aspects of banquet events.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of competitive landscapes beyond the immediate area.
  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and its departments that may influence sales strategies.
  • Adhere to sales policies and procedures outlined in the annual marketing strategy.
  • Conduct personal sales outreach.
  • Facilitate site visits for prospective clients.
  • Exhibit professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, including meeting arrangements, food and beverage services, etc.
  • Implement upselling techniques to enhance revenue generation.
  • Devise innovative marketing strategies.
  • Meet and surpass individual and team objectives as defined in the annual marketing plan.
  • Stay informed about the role of room merchandising in overall revenue management and periodically assess and adjust program parameters.
  • Achieve targeted revenue and expense goals while maximizing profitability for the sales department.
  • Ensure proper procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and safeguarding financial assets are followed.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Effectively utilize various office and sales software tools.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in the English language to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Ability to assist in the creation and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as required.
  • Accurate reporting of information.
  • Support various office department tasks as needed.
  • Strict adherence to all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Participation in mandatory meetings.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years in Large Convention Group Sales.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and their functions.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
  • Relevant college education and training preferred.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses or certifications in a timely manner.
  • CPR training required; first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
