Safety Compliance Specialist

The Safety Compliance Specialist will be instrumental in upholding the safety and regulatory standards of our operations. This role involves the creation and execution of strategic safety initiatives that align with the overarching Safety Strategy of the organization. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to foster a robust safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Development:
Design, implement, and sustain comprehensive safety initiatives that comply with industry standards and regulations.
Ensure continuous adherence to local, state, and federal safety laws.
Training and Education:
Coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) training across the organization.
Identify and disseminate best practices in training methodologies.
Conduct safety training sessions for personnel, focusing on best practices and compliance with regulations.
Incident Investigation Support:
Provide on-site assistance for incident investigations as necessary.
Monitor root cause analysis and corrective actions for significant incidents to ensure completion.
Ensure that Lessons Learned bulletins are distributed and actions are taken at other locations to prevent recurrence of incidents.
Safety Compliance:
Stay informed about industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices.
Contribute to the long-term Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategy (3-5 years).
Analyze organization-wide safety performance to identify trends and root causes.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with corporate and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of projects and priorities.
Provide HSE-focused communication materials as needed for broader distribution.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician) are advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
