Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join SAIC as a Network Support Specialist on the Vanguard Program, supporting the Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Technology. As a key member of the Service Management Office, you will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the LAN/WAN network, ensuring the secure operation of the Secure Voice and Video networks, and providing Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor the LAN/WAN network and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
  • Secure Voice and Video Networks: Support the operation of the Secure Voice and Video networks, ensuring the secure transmission of sensitive information.
  • DRSN Operations and Maintenance: Provide O&M support for the Defense Red Switch Network, including system equipment installation, maintenance, and monitoring, as well as performing in-service and out-of-service testing.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document test results, perform fault isolation, and troubleshoot circuit problems, as well as report outages to the Technical Control Facility.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Tier III staff to escalate issues and monitor issues through the trouble life cycle, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent training, and 3 years' experience with voice, data, and LAN/WAN communications systems.
  • Technical Skills: Operator/maintenance training or experience on various crypto equipment, experience in the tech control environment, basic electronics or computer repair skills, and technical writing skills.
  • Clearance: US Citizenship and Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

  • DRSN Experience: Experience working with the Defense Red Switch Network.
  • Service Now Experience: Experience with the Service Now ticketing system.
  • Technical Training: Technical training in computer science or a related field.
  • Certifications: CCNA certification, Network+ or comparable certification, and ITIL Foundation certification.
