About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Data Science and Engineering to lead our data science and engineering team at Koddi. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving our company's strategic direction by evaluating current business goals, devising data-driven strategies, and establishing robust infrastructures to support our objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Business Strategy: Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other teams to drive product strategy and investment decisions, resulting in an increase in product adoption and an improvement in customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Lead and Develop a Team: Lead and develop a globally dispersed team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers to effectively execute the product strategy, achieving an increase in team productivity and a reduction in time-to-market for new features.
  • Identify Opportunities and Challenges: Proactively identify and address opportunities and challenges to align with the product vision, resulting in an increase in product innovation and an enhancement in product-market fit.
  • Ensure Data-Driven Decision Making: Ensure data-driven decision-making processes are rigorously followed, leading to an improvement in decision quality and an increase in revenue generated from new product features.
  • Enhance Data Quality and Impact: Utilize quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation techniques to enhance the quality and impact of the team's work, resulting in an improvement in data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Influence Leadership: Influence leadership across the company to develop cross-cutting strategies and solutions to build on team capabilities across the company to better advance the mission.
  • Uphold High Standards: Uphold high standards of product thinking and analytical depth within the team through strategic hiring and mentorship initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields, PhD preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of work experience leading analytics teams, working collaboratively with Product, Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization, and strategy development.
  • Skills: Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining, and scaling geographically dispersed, high-performing teams. Demonstrated experience influencing product strategy and driving change across organizational boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses. 10+ years of experience in an analytical leadership role in technology, consulting, e-commerce, gaming, or retail industries. 10+ years of experience with SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages. Proven executive-level communication skills to influence product and cross-functional teams. Experienced in advertising technology (adtech).
