  • Oversee and orchestrate the prioritization and execution of analytical methods and statistical techniques to address inquiries posed by research leaders, funding bodies, and stakeholders.   • Collaborate with research leaders (both internal and external) to pinpoint analytical objectives and priorities. Distribute tasks among the analytics team in a manner that ensures project completion with the right expertise and balanced workload.


  • Play a pivotal role in the formulation of analytical strategies for specific research inquiries. Provide insights into study protocols, including calculations for sample sizes and statistical analysis frameworks.


  • Assist research leaders in leveraging the spectrum of statistical methodologies available among team members for ongoing projects. Identify opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and code-sharing; facilitate such interactions.


  • Maintain consistent communication with team members to proactively identify and resolve issues; oversee the appropriateness of statistical methodologies applied to research inquiries.


  • Support individual analysts in interpreting the execution of statistical requests from research leaders or other stakeholders. Aid in resolving methodological discrepancies in requested analyses.


  • Engage in team activities by undertaking and/or leading selected analytical projects, fostering project comprehension and technical leadership, while assisting the team in fulfilling essential project tasks.


  • Collaborate with the Director of Data Services to define a suitable role for programming assistance when required, and jointly plan for the availability of standard analytical datasets incorporating ongoing and future data collection.


  • Contribute to the drafting and creation of proposals for new initiatives.

Supervision Received
General administrative oversight from the Program Director. Close collaboration is anticipated with research leaders and Project Managers for respective initiatives.

  • Direct reports include Research Analysts and related roles. Responsible for managing Research Analyst workloads in close cooperation with Project Managers and the Project Management Office Manager. Accountable for providing analytical direction and ensuring the quality and accuracy of Research Analysts' outputs.


  • Responsible for recruitment, performance evaluations, and salary reviews of Research Analysts. Identify professional development opportunities that will benefit individual staff members and the organization.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, public health, public policy, etc.)


  • Proven track record of statistical programming experience with progressive responsibilities.


  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience with statistical software; SAS, R, or Python preferred.


  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and substantial knowledge in analytical methodologies for healthcare (e.g., survival analysis).


  • Excellent mentoring abilities, including supervisory or teaching experience.


  • Capability to lead analytical sub-projects with minimal oversight; demonstrated project leadership skills.


  • Contributions to the field of health services research, biostatistics, or epidemiology evidenced by a combination of peer-reviewed publications and written reports.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


  • Strong oral and written communication skills with diverse audiences, including sponsors and policymakers.


Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with federal contracts in a professional services firm similar to Arbor Research.


  • Experience analyzing healthcare administrative data, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid data in the CMS Virtual Research Data Center.


Annual Salary Range (US National Average)
$85,900 - $139,800

Base Compensation Determination
Base Compensation is determined by market range and geographic location pay zones. Base Compensation also includes various individual factors unique to each candidate such as job level, prior experience, skill set, certification, and education which may impact the compensation structure.
