Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer II

Acutronic is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to enhance our operations. In this position, you will play a vital role in the production of essential aerospace components. The ideal candidate will possess three to five years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing setting.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize manufacturing techniques and processes, including tooling specifications and equipment requirements for both existing and new projects.
- Create engineering Bills of Materials and process routings, complete with labor time assessments.
- Analyze and streamline process flows by deconstructing large assemblies into manageable sub-assemblies.
- Lead assessments and cost evaluations on automation and robotic process enhancements.
- Prepare and support Manufacturing Readiness Review documentation prior to initial production runs.
- Formulate manufacturing strategies and detailed work instructions essential for hardware production.
- Investigate alternative manufacturing processes that enhance component characteristics, lower expenses, and boost productivity.
- Oversee engineering build initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring timely project delivery.
- Guarantee compliance of manufacturing processes with AS9100 standards.
- Provide continuous engineering support to the Operations team, including troubleshooting, conducting specialized tests, generating reports, offering technical guidance, and assisting in design alterations.
- Collaborate with the Quality department in managing non-conforming products and implementing Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) procedures.
- A post-secondary degree or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in interpreting customer specifications and 2D engineering drawings, with a strong understanding of GD&T.
- Experienced in analyzing 3D CAD models to extract engineering requirements.
- Knowledgeable in process development planning, including all pertinent engineering requirements, creating engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs), developing manufacturing workflows, identifying tooling solutions, and estimating labor hours throughout the manufacturing process.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear presentations and reports to convey processes and project outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in drafting clear and compliant work instructions.
- Familiarity with standard aerospace industry specifications and practices.
