Faculty Position in Aerospace Engineering with a Focus on AI

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty role at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor, contingent upon the qualifications of the selected individual. This position emphasizes artificial intelligence applications within aerospace engineering.

We are particularly interested in methodological domains such as learning, perception, knowledge representation, statistics, uncertainty quantification, reasoning, planning, optimization, control, natural language processing, and innovative computing and sensing paradigms.

Applicants are encouraged to interpret these domains broadly when assessing their fit for this role. A strong interest in applying these methodologies to aerospace engineering is essential.

Qualifications

Additionally, the successful applicant will be anticipated to establish a research program supported by external funding, mentor graduate students, collaborate with fellow faculty members, and engage in service to the university and the profession.
