Intermediate Hazard Mitigation Specialist

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking a dedicated Hazard Mitigation Specialist to enhance our national resilience initiatives. As an integral part of our team, you will assist communities in addressing hazards, adapting to climate variability, and fostering long-term resilience. This position demands proficiency in risk evaluation, stakeholder collaboration, and mitigation methodologies.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $85,000

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Revise hazard mitigation strategies for municipalities and counties
  • Facilitate mitigation and adaptation projects
  • Collaborate with local authorities and community members
  • Assess and convey risk evaluation results
  • Oversee data management and pinpoint mitigation opportunities
  • Create decision-making support tools and involve the community

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Experience with FEMA and U.S. HUD planning processes
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Exceptional technical writing abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in mitigation planning
  • Strong connections within the resilience sector
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations
