Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Imagine Staffing Technology is seeking a Waste Planning & Disposition Manager. This role is essential for ensuring that waste management processes align with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Department of Energy (DOE) regulations regarding waste management.
  • Provide expert guidance in the formulation and maintenance of waste management protocols.
  • Supervise the characterization, sampling, processing, and preparation of waste for transport, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve waste documentation before submission to regulatory bodies.
  • Lead a team responsible for Waste Processing, Packaging, Transportation, and Waste Generator Services.
  • Implement safety protocols and uphold the Company Code of Conduct alongside DOE directives.
  • Facilitate the transition of waste generator activities to a digital platform for enhanced waste characterization and control.
  • Develop and execute strategic short-term plans for waste management, prioritizing tasks and managing costs effectively.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory officials, to address complex issues and ensure compliance.
  • Offer direction and insights on waste characterization challenges, contributing to innovative solutions.
  • Oversee department staffing through recruitment, training, and employee development.
  • Set clear job expectations, monitor performance, and provide necessary coaching and discipline.
  • Establish strategic departmental goals, manage the annual budget, and ensure adherence to equal opportunity regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including four years in a nuclear setting.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOE orders and regulations concerning hazardous/industrial and low-level waste.
  • Familiarity with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and radiological waste management practices.
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with DOE and state clients.
