About the Role

The Rooms Controller is responsible for assigning rooms for all arrivals while considering personal guest preferences and stay history. This team member must be highly personable and able to engage with all guests, including elite and other VIP guests, as well as department leaders throughout the hotel. This position requires handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests, resolving guest complaints, and assisting guests with general inquiries about the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign rooms for all arrivals, taking into account estimated time of arrivals, personal guest preferences, and stay history, with a special focus on Elite guests and other VIP guests.
  • Partner closely with Housekeeping to ensure room vacancies and occupancies are up-to-date, as well as guests' preferences and needs.
  • Collaborate with additional departments to ensure all guests' needs are met.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing, as well as other departments, to ensure showrooms are prepared.
  • Engage professionally and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Utilize daily hotel reporting and hotel computer platforms to manage guest preferences/needs and occupancy of hotel rooms.
  • Assist other departments, such as Front Desk, when needed and regularly attend weekly department meetings.
Requirements
  • Must be fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Education in Hospitality Management is preferred.
  • At least 3 years' previous supervisory experience in luxury hospitality is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members from all departments.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, ability to actively engage with GM/Hotel Manager, Restaurant GM, PR/Marketing team, Operations team, and Elite/VIP guests.
