Overview:
Ballpark of the Palm Beaches serves as the Spring Training venue for two Major League Baseball teams. This modern facility is designed for year-round activities, including Spring Training games, amateur baseball, and various events such as community gatherings, corporate functions, and weddings.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the visitor experience and creating memorable moments for fans. Candidates should possess a friendly and approachable demeanor to provide exceptional customer service while assisting guests with retail merchandise in line with the company’s service standards.
Position Details:
This is a PART-TIME/GAME DAY/SEASONAL role requiring availability during daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the readiness of the ballpark for game days by fulfilling assigned duties.
- Stay informed about safety and security protocols for all attendees.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests upon arrival.
- Respond to guest inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
- Recommend and help guests locate merchandise.
- Process transactions using the point of sale system, handle payments, and package merchandise.
- Adhere to all cash register procedures.
- Facilitate merchandise exchanges and returns with supervisor approval.
- Maintain accurate sales records.
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled and displayed.
- Regularly restock merchandise and organize displays.
- Keep the retail area clean and orderly.
- Monitor back-stock and ensure easy access to products.
- Report any defective or mispriced merchandise to the supervisor.
- Be vigilant for security risks and report any incidents to management.
- Complete all necessary closing paperwork.
- Exhibit a high level of integrity and honesty.
- Be prepared to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Assist with inventory management as directed.
- Support the loading and unloading of merchandise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred, along with cash handling and point-of-sale operation experience.
Skills:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to actively promote and sell products.
- Reliability and commitment to the work schedule.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Work Environment:
The majority of the work will be conducted in a climate-controlled indoor environment, with potential exposure to outdoor conditions during events.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to stand for the duration of their shifts and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly.
Position Type:
This is a part-time/seasonal position with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
