We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hall Director to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residence hall, providing leadership and guidance to resident staff, and fostering a positive and inclusive community for students.
Key Responsibilities- Crisis Management: Work closely with university staff to respond to emergencies and support residents and housing operations during crises.
- Staff Supervision: Motivate and direct building staff, provide formal evaluations, and conduct individual meetings to develop and review goals.
- Community Development: Foster a sense of community in the residence hall through creative and innovative methods, and provide individual advising meetings for residents with academic, social, and interpersonal concerns.
- Departmental Initiatives: Assist in implementing various assessment activities and retention initiatives to improve the residential experience and resident success.
- Education: Master's Degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience: Residence Life experience and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
