Residency Program Director Opportunity

VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as its Residency Program Director for the Department of Psychiatry. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop the department's ACGME-accredited residency program, fostering innovation, growth, and excellence in medical education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the residency program, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements and regulatory policies.
  • Develop and implement educational programs, curriculum, and assessments to promote resident learning and development.
  • Recruit, select, evaluate, and promote residents, as well as address disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Provide clinical care and supervision to residents, medical students, and other trainees.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities, adhering to VCUHS, MCVP, and VCU School of Medicine policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Clinical training in Psychiatry and MD/DO certification through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Virginia state medical licensure or eligibility.
  • Demonstrated academic and clinical leadership experience in a psychiatry residency program at a major academic healthcare organization.
  • Academic credentials and experience to qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at VCU School of Medicine.
  • Strategic, energetic, and visionary skillset to foster innovation, growth, and novel program building across VCU's behavioral health educational opportunities.
