Job Overview

B.L. Harbert International is in search of a Security Operations Specialist to join our International Group. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security and compliance of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administrative tasks related to personnel security clearances, including the coordination of all security training programs.
  • Ensure adherence to stringent document management, control, and tracking protocols.
  • Request and manage Subcontract DD254s effectively.
  • Review, monitor, and disseminate all contract DD254s as necessary.
  • Assist in conducting self-assessments as mandated by the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA).
  • Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in creating security briefings and developing training materials.
  • Monitor and manage accounts related to National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT).
  • Process Variance Authorization Requests (VARs) and Employee Clearance Certificates (ECCs).
  • Prepare, issue, and maintain employee and visitor identification badges for campus facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facility Security Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the U.S. Government.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in government-related roles (e.g., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, Department of Defense, Department of State).
  • Familiarity with DISS, personnel clearance processing, and database management including e-QIP and SWFT.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to repetitively use hands for various tasks, including reaching and lifting.
  • Capability to perform physical activities such as bending, walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing required.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and perform specialized tasks.
  • High level of concentration required in a busy office setting.

  • Must be able to work in an office setting.
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential to meet business needs.
